CHANGES AHEAD – COLLABORATOR NETWORK UPDATEInform
Our hope for the Collaborator Network is to inspire, inform, engage, and tap your expertise in the work of the AWG and in service to the developing field of social and emotional competence – and the especially appropriate use of assessment and data. In the process we hope many of you will connect and come to collaborate with us and with each other. Ultimately, together we can help address some of the most pressing, critical questions about social-emotional assessment facing educators and researchers today.
In order to make better use of all of you as collaborators, we have decided to transition from our current monthly email newsletter to a new, more engaging format: a weekly blog and website!
Rather than a monthly newsletter with multiple items you might never get around to reading, each week you will get a simple email describing the blog topic and linking you directly to the blog where you can take action, respond to a request for feedback, learn about a new report, comment on a critical issue, or propose future topics. Each blog will be limited to about 500 words so you can get a quick sense of the resource, issue, or opportunity for feedback. The website will archive all of the blog posts as well as provide additional resources and opportunities for discussion among member.
The blog approach also allows for members of the network to write a blog or raise an issue. We hope this format will allow us to more regularly tap Collaborator Network member’s expertise as well facilitate engagement with each other and important topics in the realm of assessment of social-emotional competence in an ongoing way.
We plan to launch the blog later in February and will send email notifications to direct you to the blog. Until the blog is up and running you may get brief emails from us about new reports, topics, and requests for feedback.
Thanks again for agreeing to be part of the Collaborator Network and your patience as we get it moving forward. We look forward to working with you in the years ahead.
We look forward to collaborating with you to positively impact the future of our nation’s youth!
